Introducing Mumma Mornings at Red Door

Mumma Mornings is a therapeutic support group for mothers of children under 18 months (with some wiggle room) . This groups are lead by experienced counsellor/ psychologist Angela Watkins and counsellor-in-training Rosalie Kwai-Pun.

The group meets every week to support mums as they adapt to their new life circumstances. Additionally, every week we will tackle a key topic that help mothers build better mental health with research backed suggestions. This group require registration. Sessions are free to group members.

The sessions will run on Tuesdays, starting 13 October 2026. The group will start at 10:30 am and will wrap up by 12. The sessions will be held with the office of Red Door Counselling in Central. A supportive Whatsapp group will be set up to provide continuous support to group members between sessions.

Tuesday 13 October 2026 – Birth Stories

Birth stories matter. They are the first narrative we write about becoming a mother. Whether it went according to plan, or took and unexpected turn, can leave you feeling ready, or scared about the future. Come along, share your stories, and take control of your narrative.


Tuesday 20 October 2026 – Changes to your romantic relationship after the birth of a child.

This session will address how partnerships shift after birth – connection, communication, and what to do when you’re both coping in new ways.

Tuesday 27 October 2026 – The division of labour in your household

The mental load, the emotional labour, and the physical work involved in parenting. Lets discuss methods to demonstrate this “invisible workload” as well as ways that share responsibility and prevent caregiver burnout.

Tuesday 3 November 2026 – Self Care (even in chaos)


This session will work to separate the fact from fiction in what care you need to provide to yourself in order to rest, recover and build yourself stronger for the future.

Tuesday 10 November 2026 – Navigating the influence of Family of Origin issues in parenthood

Now that you are a new family of your own, you may find that issues arising from how you were raised, or even the expectation of your parents and in-laws can become a challenge. This session will be a safe place to explore how our backgrounds inform our parenting practices, and help establish boundary practices that protect from some of the influence of in-laws in our family

Tuesday 17 November 2026 – Post Partum periods of sadness.

This session will create space for the group to discuss complicated feelings that come with postpartum, including guilt and loss.

Tuesday 24 November 2026 – My identity and My Body

This session will explore identifying who you are, and how you look now. Re imagining yourself is helpful after childbirth. Your body may not be as you have expected. Your self-image may also have changed. This session will explore your body, your self, who you are now, and who you might like to become.

Tuesday 1 December – dealing with anxiety

Anxiety is a very common mental health challenge. Becoming a mother is a time where Anxiety can suddenly become more challenging for you than it was before. In this session ..we will work on discussion our experiences of anxiety and looking at customised approaches to anxiety for our group members.

Tuesday 8 December – Becoming an intentional family

Ahead of the Christmas celebrations we will explore what it means to be an intentional family – deciding what your unit represents to you and discuss the ways you would like to build a strong sense of family identity going forward.
